Diamond Microdermbrasion is the new "lunch-time" skin resurfacing treatment. It's a crystal-free, medical-grade microdermabrasion -- a safer alternative to microdermabrasion that eliminates the risk of infection due to crystals lodging in the skin. Wands with varying levels of abrasiveness (depending on skin type and sensitivity) gently vacuum dead cells and debris while pumping oxygen to the skin, promoting healing and renewal.
The treatment removes the keratin layer of the skin to improve the appearance of brown spots, shallow acne scars, sun-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation (melasma), dull or aging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin tone and texture. To prolong results, we recommend one treatment per week for six weeks, followed by one maintenance treatment a month.
Diamond Microdermabrasion is right for all skin types. You may show some mild redness up to 24 hours following treatment, similar to the rosy flushed color your face has after being outside on a hot day. Redness varies depending on skin sensitivity and intensity of treatment. Some flaking or peeling may occur in the days following treatment as the skin rejuvenates.
A licensed esthetician will review pretreatment instructions with you and have you sign an informed consent sheet. Before treatment, all natural oils are removed from your skin using an alcohol solution. The diamond tip is then glided over your skin's surface for 10 – 20 minutes. This can be slightly uncomfortable (scratchy). A soothing organic mask is then placed on your skin, followed by a tool that cools or warms your skin (your preference). We end with Eminence SPF to camouflage any redness and aid in healing. The entire procedure takes 30 – 45 minutes.
